A young bear has been visiting a portion of eastern Glenshire and seems to have created a daily routine. For the sake of the bear’s health and our safety, it’s important we de-condition this youngster. WE ALL need to take precautions NOW, before it’s too late!

WE RESPECTFULLY URGE ALL RESIDENTS TO:

Remove bird feeders and seed, storing where bear can’t smell them for 24 hrs/day, over the next few weeks
Leave garage doors closed if food stored there, including freezers refrigerators, pet food and trash
Don’t leave food in your vehicle
Close home windows and lock doors
Put trash out the morning of pick up, never the night before
Use bear resistant garbage cans if possible

Update Per Town Interactive Map 7/29/2021:
We understand treatment is in progress on: Somerset and side streets/Regency and side sgreets
We understand treatment will start within approximately 2 weeks on: Regency and side streets/ Courtenay and side streets

ALL vegetation within 10 feet of the edge paved roadway regardless of species, except for ground cover under 18 inches, will be cut down.

We are uncertain if the Town is still allowing owners time to relocate trees/brush. Owners wanting to relocate vegetation must contact Thom Ravey for this information
