Glenshire Drive construction delays
Construction begins on Glenshire Drive near Highland Avenue (from 1500’ west of Highland to 1000’ east of Highland) starting Wednesday, August 26th. The majority of work will occur during the daytime on week days with alternating one-way traffic and flaggers. Two way traffic will be in place on school days during the morning and afternoon peak school bus periods.
However, on Saturday August 29th, Glenshire Drive will be closed all day from 7 AM to 10 PM from just east of Olympic Boulevard to east of Highland Avenue. Glenshire residents will be required to use Hirschdale Road and Olympic Heights residents will be required to use Olympic Boulevard for access to and from the respective subdivisions. Construction crews will have open trenches across Glenshire Drive in the construction zone in order to replace existing cross culverts at seven locations. For questions, please call the Town of Truckee – Todd Landry (Senior Civil Engineer) at 530-582-2904 prior to the closure and Dick Furtado (Construction Inspector) 530-218-8946 the day of the closure if there are any issues.
The project construction is scheduled to be complete by October 9th.
Thank you,
Todd

Glenshire Pool renovation moves ahead
Community members had concerns of property values, community cohesion created by the pool and children’s water safety if the project did not continue forward. There were also concerns of what would happen if there were cost overruns during the project. The board addressed this by noting that it is a living project that will be looked at for cost cutting (valued engineering) and possible temporary facilities being put in place while funds are raised to cover any cost overruns.
Sunday’s pool party cancelled
GDRA would like to apologize for the cancellation of the Pool Fundraiser awareness party planned for Sunday August 9th. We will be awaiting the outcome of the Workshop and Board meeting planned for August 10th and 12th.
Pool Workshop August 10th 6:30
Please put on your calendar now to attend the Pool Workshop on August 10th 6:30 Glenshire Clubhouse
Come and be involved in the pool repair project. This is another opportunity for you to help shape the future of Glenshire Devonshire.
The project has been cut down in size and costs over the last year but the final round of cuts will be discussed at this work shop.
Take a look at the project and let us know where you think we can make cuts.
The Board will be there with our project manager to answer questions about what basic infrastructure is needed for operation and what items are not. What does California, Nevada County and the Town of Truckee require for code updates and how those are driving the cost of the project. Where are the wet lands that might be impacted and why we need to be responsible about how we proceed in these areas?
Financing options will also be discussed, including a possible special assessment, dues increases and other options.
This is your chance to be informed, ask questions and make suggestions on how we proceed.
