2016 Paving and Drainage Project. This project was started last year but work continues this summer. As a part of this project, Glenshire Drive from Wiltshire Lane to the Town limits will be repaved (overlayed), as well as Dorchester Drive from approximately Waterloo Circle to its eastern intersection with Glenshire Drive. In order for the new pavement overlay to match up to driveways and the existing roadway sections, the pavement has been ground down, commonly referred to as conform grinds. This results in an uneven surface so we would like to remind people, particularly cyclists, to be careful in the construction zone. A small amount of paving will also occur on Somerset and Royal Way as a part of this project. Paving will likely occur late this week or next week. Mike Vaughan is the Project Manager.
2017 Slurry Seal Project. We will be slurry sealing approximately 1/3 of the roads in the southwestern portion of Glenshire this summer. Work is scheduled to occur in late June and July. Mike Vaughan is the Project Manager.
Glenshire Drive/Dorchester Drive Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvement Project. This project is currently out to bid so construction will not likely begin until July. However, it will reconstruct and widen Glenshire Drive (Truckee River Legacy Trail to Dorchester Drive) and Dorchester Drive (Glenshire Drive to Waterloo Circle). This project also includes a left-turn lane on Glenshire Drive at Dorchester Drive. The project is currently designed to include an 8-foot path between the Truckee River Legacy Trailhead and Berkshire Circle to provide an improved pedestrian and bicycle crossing location.
