Thank you for your interest in the upcoming Governing Documents Election process.
Vehicles: Language was clarified to ensure the right to store boats, RVs, vans, trailers, etc. as defined by the documents without seeking approval.
Businesses: Many of our members rely on their home-based businesses in Glenshire. The revised documents expressly allow business owners to have a small business headquartered at their home as long as they don’t present a nuisance.
Design Review: We aimed to simplify the design review process and established the right of members to proceed with improvements in the event of a non-responsive Design Review Committee. This revised language in the CC&R’s will allow further simplification in the GDRA Rules document (the next document to be reviewed and revised).
And More… : We made many other changes to better align with the expressed needs of our community.
In summary, this Committee has prepared a document that reduces unnecessary restrictions on its members while also bringing our HOA into compliance with current regulations. This document will now go out to our Board for review and the changes can be accepted or modified. Once that review is complete, the updated documents and summary of changes will be made available to the members, and meetings to discuss feedback will be scheduled. We encourage all members to take advantage of opportunities to discuss and ask questions at review meetings before the documents are finalized and put to vote!
Note: Many of the steps that follow have TBD dates as the duration of these steps is unknown, particularly attorney reviews. This page will be updated with target or actual dates for each step as they become available
Next Steps:
2/16/23 – Initial Board Review – Meeting for the Board to review and approve committee recommended changes to Governing Documents. This meeting, like all board and committee meetings, is open to the public, but the primary objective is board review/discussion. Member discussion is encouraged at later meetings.
Date TBD: Attorney Review – Board reviewed changes will be evaluated by our legal representative to ensure all areas are in compliance with current California laws that govern HOAs.
Date TBD: Subsequent Board Review – Board will review and discuss any feedback from our Attorney. Board will then approve the draft for distribution to the members.
Date TBD: Distribution of Proposed Documents for Member Review – Documents will be distributed electronically and posted on the GDRA website for public review. This will open a 30 day public comment period. Any and all comments may be sent to info@glenshiredevonshire.org.
Date TBD: First Member Comment Forum – Half way through the required review period, a member forum will be hosted where members and the Board can openly discuss the proposed changes. This is your opportunity to have your voice heard in person (or online), and discuss any questions regarding the proposed documents.
Date TBD: Second Member Comment Forum – As we reach the end of the member review period, a final comment forum will be held.
Date TBD: Documents Update – The Board and the Governing Documents Committee will compile membership comments, and make any needed revisions to the documents. Any substantial changes will be reviewed by our Attorney.
Date TBD: Final Board Approval – Board will review and vote to prepare a final version of the Proposed Governing Documents for membership vote.
Date TBD: Ballot Distribution – Final Proposed Documents will be posted to the website and distributed electronically. As always, members may request a hard copy if preferred. Ballots will be mailed to all members.
Date TBD: Membership Votes Due – Votes will be collected, tallied by 3rd party election officials, and outcome will be announced.
